"The only people who can hurt you deeply are the ones you allow to get deep inside your soul." - Erwin McManus
Transparency in relationships is something we all struggle with (some, of course, more than others). Many of us carry scars from previous relationships. The scars run deep and sometimes last for years. Because of the past hurts, many choose to be intentional about keeping others at arms length. They miss the love they so desperately need.
Without the possibility of love, there would be no scars. Without love, we could never experience God's greatest attribute. We would never be able to know one another intimately. Isn't the danger of scars worth the love we experience?

Love is always the biggist gamble with people. Not so with our God! He never scars but may give us a few calluses. If we don't take that chance from time to time then we miss the best part of this life. And if not with God then eternity.
Like the old song love is a many splendored thing. It is a sad thought that some miss the splendor of God.
So says Mike
"Love is always the biggist gamble with people. Not so with our God!"
I love that!
Blessings,

Mike,
Great thoughts. And I think this may be the crisis point for many in our modern/postmodern world today. Relationships and alienation and hurt from that, in need of the reconciliation of God in Christ.
I've tagged you. Please don't feel obligated, though.
I would agree that many people live "here" (with fear in relationships). What a shame that it takes so long to break through the barriers so they can meet God.
Blessings Ted!
Mike
It is TOTALLY worth it. I also believe that the scars shape us and make us who we are.
